Aleksandar Kolarov
Aleksandar Kolarov has signed a five-year contract at Manchester City , joining from Lazio for some £17million.
The player has passed a medical and was granted a work permit.
However, he won't be joining his new teammates on a pre-season tour in the US, despite reports to the contrary.
The 24-year-old Serb, who is considered to be one of the best left-backs in the world, is expected to dislodge Wayne Bridge from the Manchester City line-up.
However, Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini insisted that Bridge's days at Eastlands were not numbered.
"I want two top-class players for each position," he said. "I first saw Kolarov in his Lazio debut back in 2007. I have watched him a lot since then and so have the Manchester City scouts.
"His attacking capability is very good. He is fast and can shoot with power and accuracy.
"He also has the ability to play in numerous positions and is very good in midfield.
"This is an additional benefit to the team. He has a fantastic international career ahead of him. I am looking forward to working with him."
