Cesc Fabregas
A report in the Sunday Mirror this morning claims that Arsenal will offer captain Cesc Fabregas a new contract in order to keep him at the club this summer.
The 22-year-old is expected to be chased by both Real Madrid and Barcelona in the close season so Arsenal have prepared a deal that will make him the highest paid player in their history.
Although his current deal at Arsenal expires at the end of 2013/2014, manager Arsene Wenger is preparing a new five-year deal worth £120,000 a-week to ensure Fabregas stays at the Emirates.
Fabregas has been in irrepressible form for Arsenal this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists in 26 appearances in 2009/2010.
Constant reports have linked the Arsenal captain with a return back to Spain, the latest came last week after the Gunners’ 3-1 home defeat to Manchester United.
