A report in the Sunday Mirror this morning claims that Arsenal will offer captain Cesc Fabregas a new contract in order to keep him at the club this summer.

The 22-year-old is expected to be chased by both Real Madrid and Barcelona in the close season so Arsenal have prepared a deal that will make him the highest paid player in their history.

Although his current deal at Arsenal expires at the end of 2013/2014, manager Arsene Wenger is preparing a new five-year deal worth £120,000 a-week to ensure Fabregas stays at the Emirates.

Fabregas has been in irrepressible form for Arsenal this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists in 26 appearances in 2009/2010.

Constant reports have linked the Arsenal captain with a return back to Spain, the latest came last week after the Gunners’ 3-1 home defeat to Manchester United.

As much as it pains me to say this if all you are going to do is continue with experiment youth then let Cesc go. He deserves better than playing with below average players like denilson and almunia. He has always played his heart out for us and deserves much more than this.

Cesc we love you and don't want to go anywhere, but I think the club and wenger have let you down by not providing good enough players around you.You give everything you have and I don't see you as a mercenary (unlike some that have left), you just want to win something and I don't see that happening with us for quite a while - especially when we treat the domestic cup games with such little regard ! Good luck fella + I don't think any decent supporter would begrudge you seeking out the success that you deserve !

Why the hell are you people dissing our club!!!?? Yes, he can go to any club for a new challenge...a new begining but not a BETTER club or better manager!!!! And leave Denilson alone! He will come good, just as Song has!!

Some of you fools no nothing about football. To say it is ok for our best player to leave is just accepting defeat. You dont deserve to suppport Arsenal. I wonder how many of you fools actually go to watch a game like some of us?? I swear some of you are the biggest cunts around!! We will beat chelsea today and everyone will say oh were stilll a good team!!
