The young and virtually unknown Portuguese player Bebe put in a decent performance for Manchester United in their 3-2 Carling Cup victory over Wolves last night, netting the game's opener.
The 20-year-old showed plenty of enthusiasm on the right wing, both going forward and coming back to defend, in a position previously occupied by Portugal captain
Cristiano Ronaldo .
Bebe was amazingly plucked from nowhere by Portugese side Vitoria Guimaeres and shortly after was sold to
Manchester United over the summer.
Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted to signing Bebe without having seen him play. The Portugese youngster will be under pressure with each appearance to begin justifying his £7million transfer fee.
Without a doubt
Bebe seems to possess great potential, but only time will tell whether he is really up to becoming a top player at Old Trafford.
He has great technical ability, an athletic build and both body-strength and speed. Physically,
Bebe seems prepared for the Premier League and as he showed last night, he may also have an eye for the goal.
