Birmingham City are set to further deepen their interest in Rangers' star striker Kris Boyd by sending scouts to watch his Scotland comeback against the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

26 year-old Boyd had made himself unavailable for Scotland selection under Craig Burley but is happy to be welcomed back into the fold by new national team boss Craig Levein. The Rangers front man has scored 7 international goals in 15 matches.

Birmingham City have long been linked with the Rangers striker, especially with former Ibrox boss Alex McLeish in charge at St Andrews.  Boyd has scored an incredible 21 goals in 22 games for Rangers so far this season.  McLeish will send scouts to watch Boyd at Hampden Park on Wednesday, according to the Daily Mail.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season and Blues having openly declared their interest in signing a striker, McLeish will be keen to bring Boyd to Birmingham.  It is widely thought that McLeish has made two previous attempts to bring the striker to St Andrews.
