Osman Chavez
According to this morning's Daily Mirror, Blackburn Rovers are set to complete a deal to sign Honduran defender Osman Chavez .
The 25 year old centre-back has been on trial at Ewood Park and is optimistic of tying things up in the coming few days.
Chavez said "Of all my options in Europe the strongest is from Blackburn and I hope to sign."
Chavez is currently at local side Platense and has attracted interest from other clubs including Celtic. However, he will likely be keen to join a league where fellow compatriots such as Tottenham's Wilson Palacios also ply their trade.
At 6ft 1in, Chavez is a tall, strong defender, also noted for a good turn of pace and a renowned as a tough tackler. With 24 international caps to his name, Chavez will be keen to gain experience in one of the world's top leagues ahead of his expected selection for this summer's World Cup.
