Bebe
Young Portuguese star Bebe has said that he will be a “brilliant player” at Manchester United .
The 6ft 2in attacker is a virtual unknown and Sir Alex Ferguson admitted to signing the 20-year-old for Manchester United last month for £7million without ever having seen him play. Bebe came highly recommended by former Old Trafford coach and current Portugal boss Carlos Quieroz.
Bebe is quoted in The Sun as saying, "I am going to be a brilliant player for United.
"Sir Alex told me he is very happy with me and wants me to train more and get into the first team.
"I don't know when I will be ready as a lot depends on whether the boss calls me up or not."
Remarkably, Bebe spent part of his childhood on the streets, was raised in an orphanage and has represented Portugal at under-19 level and at the Homeless World Cup. He was plucked from obscurity to sign for Portugese side Vitoria Guimaraes earlier this summer, but is considered such a prospect that he earned a glamorous move to Manchester United only two months later.
