Eduardo
Arsenal striker Eduardo has given an in-depth interview to the Brazilian press and confirmed he will be available for the Premier League clash with Stoke on Saturday.
The Croatian international who was born and grew up in Brazil has not played for Arsenal since the 0-0 draw at Aston Villa and his return will be a boost for manager Arsene Wenger.
The former Dinamo Zagreb striker said that although he still suffers muscle injuries after his long lay-off following the horrific leg injury suffered in a tackle with Martin Taylor in Arsenal’s match at Birmingham in February 2008.
Eduardo said: "I have special plate in my foot which makes me feel like a Gladiator! I’m protected and with that I have gained confidence as well... I took great strength from the doctors in England and Brazil who told me 'you can rest assured you will play again.'"
The Arsenal striker added that he did not want to remove the plates in his leg as "it would take more playing time away, I wanted to train fully in pre-season with the rest of the players and at the moment it does not bother me."
Eduardo finally concluded that "the worst is over."
In 2009/2010 Eduardo has played 22 games for Arsenal in the Premier League and Champions League, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
