Mexico international Efrain Juarez has spoken excitedly about his move to Celtic, calling the Glasgow outfit a massive club.

“I had other offers but I chose Celtic because they are a big, historic club,” Juarez told the club's official Web site. “When I knew Celtic were interested I didn’t think twice about coming here."

“I agree with the values of the club and I want to win things with Celtic. It’s famous for winning everything and I want to be a part of that,' continued the 22-year-old. "I feel very good about my move to Celtic. I’m excited and I want to demonstrate my ability at this club. I want to return the confidence and trust they have shown me.”

Juarez joined Celtic from Pumas UNAM Mexico , signing a four-year deal on Monday.

He will immediately go into the squad for Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie with SC Braga, and says he will even play in goal.

“I don’t mind where Neil Lennon plays me,” he said. “I’ll play wherever he needs me. I’m delighted to represent the club and I will play anywhere, even as a goalkeeper.

“I have a Spanish friend who told me about the size of this club. He said it’s an amazing club, with amazing fans. Everyone recognises the Celtic fans across the world and the passion of the fans is important.”
