Everton manager David Moyes is considering a bid to bring former Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Derbyshire to Goodison Park, according to The Sun.

The 23 year-old was a regular fixture in the Blackburn line-up until a loan move to Greek giants Olympiakos last season.  Having netted 5 goals in 9 games, his move became permanent.   Derbyshire was also a regular England under-21 striker, scoring at a rate of almost one goal every two games and was tipped for higher international honours.

Now Everton are considering bringing Derbyshire back to the Premier League.  Given the disappointing return from the likes of Jo and Yakubu so far this season, Moyes is keen to add goal scoring options to his Everton line-up.

Olympiakos meanwhile have recently shown their ambition making a bid for Liverpool star Yossi Benayoun and have been linked to his Anfield team-mate Albert Riera and Blackburn's Morten Gamst Pedersen .

I doubt they'd want him at the moment. He has made one appearance for Olympiakos this season due to a groin injury that is still keeping him out of the game.

I respect Moyes very much and consider him one of the best coaches in Premier, but i dont think Olympiakos will give Matt. He is very important to our club and he will help, especially this year full of injuries and bad results.
