Everton manager David Moyes has been so impressed by Landon Donovan since his loan move to Goodison Park that he is already considering a bid to permanently sign the USA forward, according to The People.

Donovan opened his Everton account with a goal against Sunderland in last week's 2-0 victory and Moyes has reportedly been very impressed with the player's attitude.

Donovan is the all time leading goalscorer in the MLS, is expected to lead the USA attack in the World Cup and LA Galaxy are unlikely to let him go easily.

However, Everton reportedly believe that a bid of around £3million would be enough to make him a permanent Toffees player.  They are particularly keen to do so with Louis Saha 's contract expiring at the end of the season.

A source close to Donovan told The People, "There is a big chance he will stay here permanently but it would have to be sorted after the World Cup."

Not Hardly for about 5 mil USD. Try about 7-10 M pounds and the Galaxy may consider it. Donanovan has just signed a new 3 year deal and has NO leverage with the Galaxy. I expect the Donovan⁄Beckham show to continue in LA for at least one more year.

£3m is about US$5m - US5.5m . And his contracts owned by MLS not galaxy, with a clause that he can leave if he wants. Plus there could be clauses based on performance to add on that in any deal offered.

Plus the majority of Galaxy fans have said they'd like him to be given the shot in Europe. Everton certainly can offer him that whilst ensuring that US fans can see he'll further develop at a "proper" football club.

We haven't even got 3 million!

This story is transparently bogus. There's no way MLS would agree to sell Donovan for less than $10-$12 Million US, and probably would insist on more. A paltry offer of 3 million pounds (about $5.5 Million US) would get laughed at. Everton may not be a cash rich club, but they're smart enough to know this and wouldn't open the offering with less than $10 million US if they were serious about getting Donovan. Sorry, but I'm calling BS on this one. The British sports media love baseless rumors, and this is just another example of that.

This is madness. Everybody knows Americans and MLS'ers can't hack the EPL!!

Lando's not the all-time leading scorer in MLS, he's the all-time leading goal scorer for the US national team. He's 6th on the MLS all time scoring list

And I agree, it's most likely BS. Everton will be in a better position to afford the fee in the summer, but It will take at least $10 million for MLS to consider letting him go

That's ok £3m will be $10m before long since the $ is heading for an epic failure.

The arrogance of them to assume that the captian of the US mens natinola team and leading scorer in MLS would go for only 3 milllion pounds? try 10 million pounds... They would pay 3 million pounds for the average EPL nomad player..

They are going to find out just how smart AEG is dont they worry. ROFL.. 3 MILLION POUNDS, Thats just laughable

MR is smoking crack. The majority of galaxy fans want to see him at home depot center. Period. If he's not there, neither will they be. Its common knowledge that Galaxy want somewhere in the range of 10mil for that transer. Sure he's owned by MLS HQ, but this is the galaxy afterall. Garber wont take any action not requested by LA.
