The News of the World report this morning that Everton are scouting Schalke’s highly-rated attacking midfielder Ivan Rakitic .

The Toffees are one of a host of clubs looking at Rakitic as Schalke struggle with financial problems which could also see goalkeeper Manuel Neuer leave for Manchester United .

Rakitic, 21, has emerged as one of the hottest young players in Germany after joining from FC Basel in 2007/2008. Prior to yesterday’s match against Werder Bremen, Rakitic had played 10 games this season, scoring one goal and providing an assist.

The Croatian international (24 caps, 7 goals) is contracted to Schalke until the end of season 2010/2011 and is believed to be worth around 7.5 million euros.

IMScouting’s network of scouts in Germany describe Rakitic as a "high potential player with great technical skills and good moves. In great condition he is a player that can decide the game."

Rakitic is not a player that can decide the game! He's got great technical skills that right but he can't take use of it because he's too slow. Also he's not a classic "playmaker" he can't take any creativ responsibility. He just can play good if he's playing in a good team. In my eyes he is the slowest player of the whole bundesliga.
