Real Madrid midfielder Roysten Drenthe is pushing for a move to the Premiership.

Drenthe has rejected an offer from Monaco , and according to the Spanish AS newspaper, the 23-year-old is holding out for a transfer to England, with Fulham and Stoke leading the race for his signature.

However, the paper said Madrid could block a switch to the Premier League as they favoured a loan move to newly-promoted Le Liga side Hercules Alicante, believing he could best develop his game there before returning to the Bernabeu outfit.

Although highly talented, the left midfielder is yet to make an impact at Madrid, playing just 59 times in three seasons, mostly as a substitute.
