Israeli midfielder Yakir Lusky, 24, is set to undergo a trial with MLS side Seattle Sounders .
The former Hapoel Tel Aviv player is an attacking midfielder whose career failed to take off, but his talent led to a call up for Israel's youth national sides.
In the last four months Lusky hasn’t played professional football, and it seemed he might retire. His home team, Beitar Nes Tubruk, took him back and helped him regain fitness. Lusky now hopes to re-launch his career in the USA.
Last season Lusky played for Hapoel Ashkelon in the third Israeli tier. In January 2007 he was involved in a weird saga, as he was supposed to appear in a Hapoel Tel Aviv match but failed to do so and went AWOL for a couple of days after the club refused to let him go to Hapoel Ashkelon.
