During an official state visit, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has criticized AC Milan 's signing of midfielder Mancini from city rivals Inter Milan .

Berlusconi was in Israel for top level meetings.  However, during a lull in proceedings, he gave his opinions on developments back home at the San Siro.

The former AC Milan chief said, "Mancini? I do not understand the purchase" following the Rossonieri's capture of the Brazilian 29 year-old.

Berlusconi continued, noting that Mancini "is another midfielder, when what we might need is someone to finish off the game."

The Italian Prime Minister added that he had made his opinion know to Adriano Galliani, the Vice-President of AC Milan .
