Juventus are preparing an eight million pound move for Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel , according to a report in the News of the World this morning.

The "Old Lady" have pinpointed Skrtel as the defender to take over from veteran centre back Fabio Cannavaro who only joined from Real Madrid last summer.

Skrtel is contracted to Liverpool until the end of the 2011/2012 campaign and has been linked with a move to Juventus in recent weeks, alongside manager Rafa Benitez.

The 25-year-old Slovakian international was a late substitute in Liverpool’s Merseyside derby win over Everton yesterday.

In total, Skrtel has made 21 appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring one goal and picking up five yellow cards.

9 million and he is yours. 10mp for Kjaer. Skrtel is overrated and he is not the same as he was before the injury.

He is the same Skrtel even after the injury ...average at best and grossly overrated. Skrtel isn't leaving Liverpool anytime soon, especially with Rafa earnestly building a mediocre team at Anfield.
