Febian Brandy, currently on loan from Manchester United to Gillingham, has been ruled out for between two and four weeks after tearing a hamstring.
The 20-year-old striker picked up the knock after he was unable to warm up properly before the 3-1 defeat to Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
Brandy missed the 0-0 draw with Carlisle yesterday and manager Mark Stimson felt his side missed the United striker.
Stimson said: "We missed Febian out there and you could see him causing the Carlisle centre-backs problems, but we are paying the price for Tuesday's game. We didn't get enough time to warm-up at Leyton Orient and he now has a tear and could be out for anything between two and four weeks."
So far this season, Brandy has scored one goal in five appearances for Gillingham.
