Frederic Piquionne
Portsmouth striker Frederic Piquionne has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Premier League clubs, telling French newspaper L’Equipe that he wants to continue his career in England.
The 31-year-old striker has impressed in a struggling side this season, on loan from French giants Lyon but looks set to leave Fratton Park when his deal is up, with Pompey all but certain to be heading for the Championship.
Piquionne said: "I do not want to return to Lyon to sit on the bench... I want to enjoy my last few months at Portsmouth and hopefully catch the eye of other English clubs."
The 6.2ft striker is out of contract at Lyon at the end of this season and in recent months has been linked with summer moves to Blackburn and Birmingham.
In 2009/2010, Piquionne has scored five goals in 25 appearances and is expected to start for Pompey tonight in their match at Liverpool.
