Aston Villa midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker will return to training and has targeted a return to first team action in time for the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

The 25 year-old has been out injured since suffering a stress fracture of the ankle back in January. At the time, Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill described the loss of Reo-Coker as "a major blow".

The midfielder now has permission to return to training and hopes to be available for first team selection soon.  Aston Villa will face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley next month. Reo-Coker last appeared for Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round match against Blackburn on 2 January.

He captained West Ham in the 2006 FA Cup final, which they lost on penalties to Liverpool.
