Simon Kjaer
Tottenham are trying to push through a £13million deal for Palermo centre-back Simon Kjaer .
Danish centre-back Kjaer enjoyed two outstanding seasons at Palermo , helping them to finish fifth in Serie A last season, narrowly missing out on Champions League football. He is a player in demand and earlier this week, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini said that he is prepared to sell the 21-year-old.
Zamparini said, “I must find a replacement. Kjaer's valuation is between €15m and €20m,
"I know of talks with the two Manchester clubs, Tottenham and Wolfsburg. Inter have not called me so I don't know if they're interested,"
Now Italian website Datasport reports that Tottenham are pushing for final talks on a deal worth £13million. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp will be looking to strengthen his squad ahead of a maiden Champions League campaign. Kjaer is highly-rated as one of Europe's most promising defenders and his arrival at White Hart Lane would be a major statement of intent from Redknapp.
Kjaer is currently on World Cup duty but is suspended for today's crunch game between Denmark and Japan.
