Cesc, heading back to the Nou Camp?

Widespread reports in Spain this morning claim that Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has come to a verbal agreement with Barcelona.

The transfer rumours over Fabregas leaving Arsenal in the summer have gone up a notch in Spain in recent days with suggestions that the central midfielder had rejected a new deal at the Emirates and that he was looking for a new house in Barcelona.

The latest reports suggest Fabregas has agreed a verbal agreement to return to Barcelona and now the Catalan club are preparing to deal with Arsenal to complete the summer deal.

Fabregas has reportedly agreed a five-year-deal at the Nou Camp and will earn 6.5 million euros a year, leaving him on a par with Barcelona stars Xavi , Andres Iniesta and Dani Alves .

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to keep Fabregas and has put a 35 million euro contract over five years on the table but the Spanish midfielder is disappointed at the lack of silverware during recent seasons.

If any deal goes through it is expected to be for 50 million euros. Fabregas’ agent, Darren Dein has though denied the move, telling Spanish newspaper Marca: "what information? That’s not true."

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is eager to seal the deal for the Arsenal captain before he leaves office at the end of the season.

Same old tired AS and Marca bullshit from a bullshit site.

If he has apparently agreed a deal, surely Barca could be done for tapping up.

As far as I'm aware, wouldn't Barcelona need permission from Arsenal before even contacting the player.

Since Fabregas is still under contract to Arsenal, Barca would need permission to speak with him. That permission has not been granted. So, either the Spanish press are lying...again...or Barca are guilty of the most egregious act of tapping up.

TheSKAGooner you're absolutely right
I think Spanish media is desperate to sell papers now and since Fabregas sells they will keep printing this stuff until fabregas signs an extension next year or so

I am 1 Gooner, Arsene Wenger, to show that, he has plan and vision for Arsenal. He has to do everything in his power to keep FABREGAS, as simple as that. The shouldn't be any other way at all.

What do you expect from Daigo papers? How many times over the past 3 years has he signed for them???

This story is absolute rubbish. Until Arsene says that a deal is done then I will believe it. Not some spanish rag reporting about a verbal agreement.

As we know at UNITED its the Spanish way of doing business and it seems they are allowed to tap our best players. This will go on until they get Fab. The difference from Ronnie is that he wanted to go to Real, whereas I'm not sure Fab wants to go to Barca at this time, though I think he will in a few years. I hope Wenger makes a stand against Barca but money talks. 50 Mil Euros would be hard to turn down.
As has been said here earlier, I think its mainly Spanish papers desperate to sell copy but Fab is a Barca boy so who knows. Hope you keep him or at least make Barca pay over the top..
