Saudi giants Al Ittihad Jeddah are ready to pay USD 2.2 million for the Algerian international striker of ES Setif club, Abdelmalek Ziaya .

The Saudi club are pressing ES Setif's president, Abdelhakim Serrar, to complete the deal during the January transfer window for a two-and-a-half-year contract. The salary will be 300k euros per season.

The leading goal scorer at ESS had received a proposal from the French Ligue 1 side FC Sochaux Montbeliard, but Serar rejected the offer of loaning the international striker for a six-month period.

Algeria's championship holder and FC Sochaux had planned a six-month loan of the ESS striker with a purchase option before Setif Club's president changed his mind.

The forward said he can't wait to join the French side. "The negotiations between my club and Sochaux officials have come to a conclusion with a six-month contract and a buying option. I am happy with this first professional contract that will allow me to give a new dimension to my career," he explained before knowing the deal is still not completed.

"On Tuesday or Wednesday I’ll visit Sochaux to undergo the traditional medical visit and once I’ve gotten the green light from the medical staff I’ll sign the contract to officially become a Sochaux player until the end of the season."
