Robinho
Brazilian star Robinho could be set for an early return to Manchester City due to unfulfilled sponsorship at Santos.
Robinho has been a big hit at Santos since joining on a six month loan deal from Manchester City in January, having fallen behind the likes of Craig Bellamy in Roberto Mancini's pecking order. Since his move to Brazil, there has been talk that he would look to extend his stay at Santos beyond the summer.
However, Santos could not match Robinho 's £160,000-a-week Manchester City wages and persuaded three major sponsors to share the burden, with the promise of a share of the player's image rights in return.
The Manchester Evening News reports that one of the deals has already fallen through while the other two, including an agreement with Volkswagen, have yet to be finalized.
Robinho's advisor Evandro Souza played down the speculation, saying "Santos have fulfilled their obligations up until this day, and so has Robinho ." However, should Santos fail to pay Robinho 's wages, there may be no choice but a return to Manchester City .
