Although West Ham insist that he is not for sale, Harry Redknapp is considering making a significant bid to bring Scott Parker to Tottenham.

Redknapp has emphasized that he would like to sign three quality players to ensure that Tottenham continue to progress, having qualified for the Champions League.  The Daily Mirror speculates that West Ham captain Scott Parker is one of the players that Redknapp has in mind.

The 29-year-old midfield general was excellent for the Hammers as they struggled last season and while West Ham co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan have said that Parker is not for sale, Redknapp may still test the waters and hope that the prospect of Champions League football can lure Parker away from Upton Park.

However, the valuations of the two clubs are gulfs apart.  The Daily Mirror speculates that Tottenham could offer £8million for Parker, but that West Ham would look for almost double that at £15million.

Should Parker arrive at White Hart Lane, he would face stiff competition for a first-team spot with the likes of Tom Huddlestone and Wilson Palacios also able to patrol the midfield.
