Patrick Vieira
Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Bolton last night took them up to fifth place in the Premier League and Patrick Vieira , who made his first start for the club, believes they can finish in the top four.
Vieira provided the assist for Emmanuel Adebayor to score Manchester City ’s second goal and when pressed afterwards, felt a Champions League spot is well within City’s grasp.
The former Arsenal legend said: "The top four is our target and I really believe we are strong enough to finish there. There is a long way to go and some big games coming up but we just need to win them and see where we can get to in the Champions League race."
On his own performance, Vieira added: "It's the first time I've played 90 minutes for quite a while. But I enjoyed it and, when you have quality players around you, it is much easier. It was important we came back with a win after the defeat at Hull."
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini was also delighted with the win: "I was still playing when I was 36 and, I think, still playing well! I just hope Patrick can play for the next 14 matches. Facing Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham in the next month will show us if we can arrive where we want to be - in the top four."
