Wayne Rooney

A stomach bug has ruled Wayne Rooney out of Manchester United 's Premier League clash against Fulham today.

Rooney has failed to score for Manchester United or England since March. He was injured in the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich and struggled to recover his best form, although he still scored 34 goals for Manchester United in total during the campaign.

Although Rooney will be desperate to get back to scoring ways, he was sent home by the club doctor yesterday, for fear that he could pass a gastro viral infection on to the rest of the players.

Rooney's absence could well mean a first Manchester United start for exciting summer signing Javier Hernandez .
