The Slovakian World Cup squad has an interesting array of young stars, led by Napoli star Marek Hamsik , Chelsea's Miroslav Stoch and Besiktas's Filip Holosko .

A lesser-known talent is Schalke's recent purchase, Erik Jendrisek , who will be joining the team in the summer in a three-year deal.

The 23-year-old striker has been playing for FC Kaiserslautern for the past three seasons, and was the team's top scorer with 15 goals last campaign, helping the side get promoted to the German top flight.

Jendridek was one of the reasons for Kaiserslautern 's recent success, as the team advanced to the Bundesliga after four years playing in Bundesliga 2.

Jendridek was considered to be of Slovakia's highest-rated young players, and already in 2006, when aged just 20, he was loaned to Hannover, before being snapped up by Kaiserslautern .

Described as a tough striker who can play in any attacking position, Jendridek is sure to get playing time at the World Cup, adding to his 14 appearances for Slovakia and possibly adding to his two goals for the national team.

The World Cup comes at a crucial point in Jendrisek's career, which could well take off if he does well in the tournament, giving him a fighting chance of becoming an integral part of the 2010 Bundesliga runners-up.
