Portuguese newspaper A Bola claims this morning that Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp tried to tempt Luis Figo out of retirement when the two met at a golf function in the Algarve.

Redknapp met Figo at "The Sir Bobby Robson Golf Classic," an annual event which took place yesterday in the Algarve for the sixth year in a row.

According to A Bola, Redknapp met Figo in private and the former Barcelona and Real Madrid winger told the Spurs manager that he has offers on the table from former club Inter Milan to continue in an administrative role at the San Siro.

Redknapp said: "We talked, since he is obviously a great friend of Sir Bobby Robson. Obviously we talked about football and he told me he had not yet decided anything about his future."

Luis Figo retired from professional football at the end of the 2008/2009 season, after claiming the Serie A Scudetto with Inter Milan.
