Vincent Enyeama
Reports in Israel today have claimed that Arsenal had agreed personal terms with Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama last week, but the Premier League club pulled out of the deal as they would not pay Hapoel Tel Aviv €2million for the highly-rated custodian.
Enyeama is the first choice goalkeeper for Nigeria and impressed during Nigeria’s recent 1-0 win over France at the beginning of the month. Arsene Wenger who was working for French TV on the game saw the performance of Enyeama and made a move for the 26-year-old.
After failing to agree terms with Hapoel Tel Aviv , Arsenal then extended the contract of second-choice Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.
Arsenal are now believed to have ended their interest in Enyeama despite the fact his agent has claimed he would have been first choice at the Emirates.
Enyeama has played 42 times for the Nigeria national team, he also takes penalties and scored three goals for Hapoel Tel Aviv last season.
IMScouting chose Vincent Enyeama as a Player to Watch in February, a full scouting report, including video evidence, can be seen here.
