With Arsene Wenger’s future at Arsenal now confirmed, a report in The Times this morning suggests that the Frenchman will continue his policy of signing the best young players in world football.

Gary Jacob writes this morning: "Wenger is likely to continue to pursue his policy of signing young players with potential and has expressed an interest in Eden Hazard , the Lille attacking midfield player who can also play on the wing."

The right-footed attacking midfielder who can play on both wings made his initial breakthrough into the Lille first team last season, making four appearances. During 2008/2009 he has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in Ligue 1, making 28 appearances and scoring four goals.

Although Hazard needs to find more consistency, he was dubbed "little Messi" by former coach Claude Puel. There has been much speculation over Hazard with Chelsea scouts having watched him in April. Inter Milan have also been scouting the 18-year-old.

Hazard is contracted to Lille until 2011/2012 and is likely to fetch a fee of at least five million euros. Video evidence of Hazard in action can be seen on the video below.
