Barcelona’s Jonathan Dos Santos, the younger brother of Tottenham’s Giovani, has been called up to the Mexico national squad for the upcoming friendly against Colombia on September 30, 2009.
Jonathan Dos Santos, 19, is an attacking midfielder who has come through the youth system at the Nou Camp and made some appearances for the Catalan giants during pre-season.
On receiving his call-up, the Barcelona midfielder said: "Mexico is in my blood, I'm going for the Mexican national team. On his older brother he added: "Since we were little, we've been playing together, as we got older, our dreams became to play with one another on the national team."
The younger Dos Santos brother is a talented playmaker with fine dribbling ability and is also a specialist free-kick taker.
Mexico are currently second in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying and face two matches against El Salvador (home) and Trinidad & Tobago (away) to ensure qualification for South Africa 2010.
