Spanish giants Barcelona are tracking Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe according to a report in the UK's Sunday Express.  

The England striker has been in exceptional form this season, having scored eleven goals so far for the North London club.  His five goal haul in Tottenham's 9-1 mauling of Wigan last week underlined Defoe's clinical finishing.    

His current form would appear to have secured Defoe's place in England's squad for this summer's World Cup.  He already has twelve international goals to his name.  An impressive performance at next summer's tournament would only intensify Barcelona's interest.
