Ivan Klasnic
Reports in France this morning suggest that Bolton are closing in on the signing of Croatian striker
Ivan Klasnic from Nantes.
The 29-year-old is expected to leave Nantes before the end of the summer transfer window and is set to meet with Bolton officials sometime today, according to L’Equipe.
Racing Santander are also interested in Klasnic but Bolton is reportedly the striker’s first choice destination.
Klasnic scored six goals in 28 appearances last season following a free transfer move from Werder Bremen. He has begun the new Ligue 2 season in great form, scoring three goals in the opening four games.
The Croatian international (Caps 35/Goals 11) shot to prominence in January 2007 when he suffered kidney failure and then successfully received a kidney transplant from his father and returned to playing football.
Video evidence of Klasnic in action can be seen below.
