Liverpool’s emerging striker David Ngog has been approached to play for Cameroon, despite having already represented France at youth levels.

Ngog was approached by Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen who worked with the young striker during his time at Paris Saint Germain and is eager to pair him up with Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o in the World Cup.

The Liverpool striker said: "I have had contact with the Cameroonian federation. Now I need some time to think about things. I'm very flattered."

Ngog has played for France from Under-16 level to Under-21 level but has a Cameroonian father but can make the change due to a recent change in FIFA rules.

The decision could also impact Liverpool as Ngog would join up with Cameroon for the Africa Cup of Nations in January if he decides to switch allegiance.

Ngog has made seven appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League and Champions League this season, scoring three goals.

Ngog is an excellent pair with samuel Eto and will have the opportunity to play the 2010 world cup. Hope he dose,t get flattered by France and make a wrong decision that he will regret through out his carrier like the Ibrahim BA,s. If he want international trophies then let him play for Cameroon and grab the nations cup come Jan 2010.The choice is his any way, but a little advice will be for him to join the young stars in the indomitable lions of Cameroon who are hungry for trophies and have the opportunity to grab 2 come 2010.

You better go with the Rising Stars of Cameroon or wait for the "Cheats"

Cameroon is giving him a great opportunity, if he don't realize it, it is his problem. Cameroon will never going to beg a player to join his elite. We are a country of football and we are proud. You are not sure that you want to fight for the GREEN-RED-YELLOW, just go away !!

Cameroon has better opportunities than France as far as this particular situation is concerned for David Ngog...it's his decision to make...Allez les Lion

Ngog, make an important decision now in your profession. Don't behave like Boumsong and Desailly, they badly regret their decisions. With Cameroon, yo are sure to play. Look at Assou Ekotto, look at Desire Job. Take a wise decision before Marc 2010. Good luck.

Paul Le Guen knows Ngog very well and should advice the youngter to join the current batch of the Indomitable Lions. This is a great opportunity for him to play with Eto'o in South Africa. He should be careful not to blunder like Boumsong. Ngog, better use your eyes now to see what the future holds for you with the Lions or you will use them to cry with the French.
