"Kun" Aguero, heading for Stamford Bridge?
The Daily Mail claim this morning that “Chelsea are closing in on a deal for
Sergio Aguero from
Atletico Madrid which could be worth £50million - and make the Argentina striker the highest-paid player in the Barclays Premier League.”
If Chelsea do land the Argentine striker they will likely pay him more than Emmanuel Adebayor earns at Manchester City, believed to be 170,000 pounds a week.
Having had a 31 million pound offer rejected last summer, the Blues are eager to tie up Aguero in January whilst their transfer ban is suspended.
Both Carlo Ancelotti and Roman Abamovich were impressed by Aguero’s performance against Chelsea in the most recent Champions League clash against
Atletico Madrid when the 21-year-old striker scored a brace.
Sergio Aguero has scored seven goals in 16 appearances in the Primera Division and Champions League this season despite Atletico’s woeful start to the campaign that sees them in 18th position in La Liga.
