Kolar, could move to Cardiff in the summer
Highly-rated Czech Republic attacking midfielder
Daniel Kolar was impressive for Cardiff in their friendly match against Merthyr Tydfil last night.
Cardiff beat the financially troubled Welsh club 3-0 with Kolar playing a part in the build-up to the first two goals and then claiming the third just before half-time.
Kolar is taking part in a three-day trial with Dave Jones’ side during the international break. His agent Ondrej Chovanec from Chovanec Sport Agency told IMScouting: "They wanted Dan to get to know the club and meet coach Dave Jones, it is not just about the trial, they have been scouting Dan for a while now."
Chovanec added that "Cardiff know Kolar has a big personality despite being only 23-years-old. He was voted the Talent of the Year in the Czech Republic in 2006 and played for the Under-21 team and a lot of big clubs watched him. Including Celtic and there has been interest from German clubs Borussia Mönchengladbach, FC Köln, MSV Duisburg and Catania of Italy."
Kolar is expected to return to the Czech Republic today and talks between Cardiff and his club
Viktoria Plzen will continue in the coming months. The 6.0ft attacking midfielder is described by scouts as a "versatile, technical midfielder, who can play at a high level in all attacking positions in midfield. He is dangerous in the penalty area." Video evidence of
