After a sensational season where he led Wolfsburg to a shock Bundesliga title, Bosnia-Herzegovina striker Edin Dzeko will be offered two contract extensions to ward off interest from AC Milan.
Dzeko is believed to be keen on a move abroad but Wolfsburg have no intention to let him go and as a result have offered the hitman a new four-year contract worth £2.5m a season.
Conscious of the fact that Dzeko may not be keen on such a long-term contract, Wolfsburg have also offered a shorter option, according to German newspaper Bild.
The 23-year-old striker has been offered a contract extension up until 2012 with a slight increase in his current salary, which is around £850,000. Wolfsburg technical director Armin Veh said: "We have great plans for the new season. We need Edin."
AC Milan remain interested but vice-president, Adriano Galliani has admitted the Rossoneri are keen on Luis Fabiano and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Dzeko scored 29 goals in 40 games for Wolfsburg in 2008/2009 and established himself as one of the up-and-coming strikers in Europe. IMScouting chose him as a
