The News of the World today link Everton with a move for Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia , who played in the 5-0 Europa League win over the Toffees last week.

Garcia only joined Benfica from Real Madrid in the summer for seven million euros and has been highly impressive since moving to Portugal.

According to the News of the World, "Moyes has asked his scouts to keep an eye on Garcia, who two years ago was being monitored by rivals Liverpool, for the rest of the season."

Moyes should be able to take another look at Garcia on Thursday when Everton face Benfica again in the Europa League at Goodison Park.

Garcia, 22, has played 14 games this season, scoring two goals, provided two assists and he has also been booked four times.

Scouts in Portugal describe Garcia as "a very complete midfielder, more defensive than offensive. He can win a lot of balls and has good long distance shooting." One of Garcia’s goals this season came in the 8-1 win over Vitoria Setubal in August, it can be seen on the video below.
