A report in the Daily Mirror this morning suggests "Everton manager David Moyes has been offered Benfica’s French midfielder Hassan Yebda in a £3million deal and is now considering his options."
The 25-year-old box-to-box midfielder joined the Portuguese giants on a free transfer from Le Mans last summer, he came through the ranks at Auxerre. A number of reports throughout the course of last season claimed that Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho was a keen admirer of Yebda.
During the 2008/2009 season, Yebda made 30 appearances, scoring one goal and providing one assist. He also picked up eight yellow cards and one red. He is contracted to Benfica until the end of the 2011/2012 season and as opposed to the report in the Daily Mirror, could actually cost close to 7.5 million euros.
IMScouting’s network of scouts in Portugal describe Yebda as "a strong central midfielder, with great physical capacity. Covers many meters per game and has a good shot from distance. Also has neat passing ability. Has all the tools to become a player of the highest order."
Video evidence of Hassan Yebda can be seen below.
