PSV Eindhoven coach Fred Rutten has denied that Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is set for a return to the club where he first made his name.

Responding to reports in the Spanish media, Rutten said "With Reis, Toivonen and Koevermans we have three excellent strikers."

Van Nistelrooy burst onto the scene in 1998, scoring 62 goals in 67 games for PSV, before a big money move to Manchester United where he enjoyed an equally successful spell.

The 33-year-old has also scored an impressive 33 goals in 64 appearances for the Dutch national team, but has been limited to only two appearances so far this season for Spanish giants Real Madrid .
