Martin Jol has used the last day of the transfer window to add four players to his squad as Hamburg look to strengthen for a likely tilt at the Bundesliga title.
Hamburg have signed midfielders Albert Streit and Mickael Tavares alongside goalkeeper Khalid Sinouh and Danish international defender Michael Gravgaard.
Albert Streit, a right-sided attacking midfielder from Schalke, joins on loan until the end of the season. Hamburg bought Mickael Tavares for 1.5 million euros from SK Slavia Praha and the 26-year-old has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal.
Tavares is noted for being a creative defensive midfielder, who is also technical and constructive. The box-to-box midfielder has played six times for the Cape Verde Islands.
Gravgaard, 30, joins from French side Nantes and he will bring much needed experience as Jol’s side also look to progress in the UEFA Cup and German Cup.
Finally, 33-year-old goalkeeper Khalid Sinouh joins on a free transfer, he has played six times for the Moroccan national team and last played for Kasimpasa Istanbul.
