Australian striker John Aloisi will join Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua on loan for three months from A-League side Sydney FC.

Aloisi struggled last season at Sydney FC and at times was heavily criticized by fans of the club.

Sydney chief executive Stefan Kamasz announced: "As I understand it, he has effectively agreed terms. We haven’t settled on a loan fee yet. There is no urgency until John sees what it’s like when he goes over there."

Aloisi is expected to be an important member of Vitezslav Lavicka’s squad next season as he looks to return to the form he showed in Europe with Coventry, Portsmouth and Osasuna with Syndey FC.
