Reports in Italy claim that Turin giants Juventus are interested in signing IFK Goteborg central defender Mattias Bjarsmyr .

Alongside Juventus, Fiorentina and Udinese are also believed to be tracking the 23-year-old. If he was to move to the "Old Lady" he would join up with fellow Swedes Olof Mellberg and Albin Ekdal.

Bjarsmyr, whose agent is former Swedish striker Martin Dahlin, is in the final year of his contract. According to the IMScouting system, Bjarsmyr is a "leader," he has spent his whole career at IFK Goteborg.

According to IMScouting’s network of scouts in Sweden, Bjarsmyr is a "gifted central defender, former captain of the Swedish U-21 national team and has even played a few games for the senior national team. Good at almost everything .Rumoured to be leaving for a bigger league in summer of 2008."

During the early part of the January transfer window, SPL giants Rangers were linked with a move for the 6.1ft central defender.
