Richards, heading to Old Trafford?
The Daily Mirror have sensationally claimed today that Manchester United will swoop for
Manchester City defender
Micah Richards if Mark Hughes decides to sell the England international.
James Nursey reports: "Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a huge admirer of Richards and tried to sign him when he first broke on the scene. Ferguson is considering his options at right-back with growing concerns about Gary Neville’s fitness and Rafael Da Silva’s ability."
Nursey adds: "Ferguson believes his strict man-management could control Richards and United are hoping to do business if City will sell to them."
Micah Richards returned to the
Manchester City first team for the 1-1 draw with Hull City on Saturday to make his first appearance for a month. In total he has played eight games this season, providing one assist and receiving one yellow card.
The 21-year-old defender who can play in central defence or in the middle, is contracted until the end of 2012/2013 season.
