Nottingham Forest will bid 3 million pounds for Tottenham defender Gareth Bale , according to a report in the Daily Mirror today.

The tabloid claim "Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies is set to make an audacious £3million move for Spurs’ out of favour Gareth Bale . Davies needs a left-sided defender and wants Welsh star Bale, 20, as well as three other new players in January to boost Forest’s promotion push."

The Welsh international has struggled at Spurs in recent seasons due to a combination of injuries and the good form of Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

This season Bale has made just two appearances for Tottenham in the Premier League, playing a total of 41 minutes.
