Alvaro Arbeloa is set to miss Real Madrid ’s next three games after spraining a ligament in his right knee.

Arbeloa picked up the injury in training after he went in hard on team mate Lassana Diarra.

The former Liverpool defender is now expected to miss the Primera Division matches against Villareal and Tenerife as well as the Champions League clash with Marseille.

The 26-year-old right back has made three appearances in the Primera Division and Champions League this season, he joins Christoph Metezelder, Xabi Alonso and Ruud van Nistelrooy on the injury list at the Bernabeu.
