This week’s Special Report utilizes the enormous amounts of data on the IMScouting system to discover which teams in Europe improved the most during 2008/2009 compared to the previous season, in terms of win percentage.
Coming out on top, with a difference of 37.37% between seasons 2007/2008 and 2008/2009, is Montenegro side Sutjeska Niksic. They finished third in the Prva Liga, thirteen points ahead of fourth place and 11 points behind eventual winners Mogren Budva.
In second place are Eredivisie 2008/2009 title winners
AZ Alkmaar with a difference in win percentage of 36.27%. Led by the likes of Mounir El Hamdaoui and Moussa Dembele, AZ were a class apart and romped home to win the Dutch title.
But, will things be different next season after Luois van Gaal left for Bayern Munich?
Two other teams on the list improved their win percentage by over 30%. FK Baku of Azerbaijan had a 34.62% difference and Paok Saloniki of Greece were 31.1% better in terms of wins last season compared to the season before.
FK Baku won the Azerbaijan Supreme League by one point whilst PAOK Saloniki finished in second during the regular season of the Greek Super League.
