Luka Modric is expected to return to the Tottenham first team for the clash with Wigan on November 22.

The Croatian playmaker was reportedly close to making his comeback next week for the match against Sunderland but will now wait until after the international break.

Harry Redknapp said: "It's not a setback. The international break gives him another two weeks to get fit," after Modric continued to feel pain in his leg during training over the last few days.

Modric sustained a fracture to his right fibula during victory over Birmingham City at White Hart Lane in late August. The 24-year-old has missed seven Premier League games and Spurs have picked up just seven points from these matches.
