Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has agreed to extend his contract as coach of Spain until 2012.

Angel Maria Villar Llona, the President of the Spanish Football Federation, said: "I spoke with del Bosque to renew his contract for two years and he expressed his agreement."

The President added: "We have not signed the contract renewal, but his word is important. We have full confidence in our coach as can be seen from the results so far."

Vicente del Bosque took over from Luis Aragones after Spain won Euro 2008, his current deal was up to the end of the 2010 World Cup.
