If you’re a fan of the American sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” you’re probably aware of the ongoing online debate about whether the 44-year-old actress and comedian have undergone plastic surgery.
In Hollywood, a change in the face or body rarely goes unnoticed. So, when Kaitlin Olson returned to our screens in 2018 for the premiere of the 13th season of the American sitcom, fans went haywire online, claiming that the actress didn’t look the same.
Since then, many rumors have circulated, and the question remains: what’s the truth about Kaitlin Olson’s plastic surgery?
In this post, I’ve done some digging so you wouldn’t have to. Continue reading to learn everything about Kaitlin Olson’s plastic surgery.
Kaitlin Olson’s Plastic Surgery
Kaitlin Olson fans are split between slamming her for changing her face and appreciating the facial enhancement. However, most, if not all, fans agree on one point: Kaitlin Olson has had something done to her face.
1. Rumored Cosmetic Surgery Between Seasons 12 and 13
Because Botox and facelifts are so widely available, almost every celebrity becomes the subject of plastic surgery rumors the moment their facial features change.
Kaitlin Olson is one of those celebrities whose fans believe she has had a facelift, or at the very least Botox.
Olson has neither confirmed nor denied getting Botox or facelifts. Still, many fans have taken to the internet to discuss her inability to show facial expressions, blaming it on the possibility of Olson getting some sort of facelift.
Olson, according to one Redditor, has been unable to express any emotion other than shock since her alleged plastic surgery.
Not all the comments are negative, though. Some Olson fans have stated that the surgeries have enhanced Olson’s facial features.
Olson has only given a hazy response to rumors about her breast augmentation surgery. The actress and her co-stars attended an “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” panel at Los Angeles’ Paley Center in 2016.
During the event, the cast was asked if they keep up with social media. Olson responded by addressing the online thread titled on her IMDb page. This thread is titled “Implants?” and is full of people debating whether Olson had breast augmentation surgery.
She said that she had two babies in about three years. During that time, people were debating whether Olson had breast augmentation surgery or breast reduction surgery.
She then exclaimed, “I’ve had two children! I had a boob job! Yeah!” In response, the audience erupted in laughter, despite still not receiving a direct response to the rumors.
2. Cosmetic Surgery Rumors at the Age of 12
What I know for sure is that Olson had to have undergone cosmetic surgery around the age of 12.
When Olsen was 12, she had a near-fatal bike accident that left her with a hole in her head. Olson wasn’t wearing a helmet when she fell off her bike, and she smashed her head, which led to her needing to undergo a couple of reconstructive surgeries.
The accident pushed some of her teeth to the back of her mouth. Her top lip was also smashed in and continued to grow scar tissue for five years after the accident. Not to mention the hole in Olson’s head.
Olson required a couple of cosmetic surgeries to remove the signs of the accident.
Another thing is certain: because of the trauma of her childhood accident, Olson has raised her children to be extra cautious of their surroundings.
Olson married her “It was Always Sunny in Philadelphia” co-star Rob McElhenney in 2008, and they have two sons, Axel Lee and Leo Grey McElhenney.
While both parents take good care of their children and raise them well, it appears that Olson is especially concerned with raising conscious children.
In an interview with Glamour, Olsen delves into the details of what led to her unfortunate accident. Even though Olson’s mom sent her out on the bike wearing a helmet, Olson took it off as soon as she was out of the neighborhood.
She admitted that she knew the helmet was for her protection, but she still made the risky decision to remove it. That is why she teaches her children to strike a balance between taking risks and staying safe.
Final Thoughts
Cosmetic surgery has been practiced for centuries, but it wasn’t until the 1970s and 1980s that it became popular among Hollywood celebrities. So, it’s quite common for celebrities to undergo cosmetic surgery to enhance their appearance.
However, few celebrities are open about going under the knife. That seems to be the case with Kaitlin Olson as well. So, until Olson admits herself to having plastic surgery before season 13, we may never know for sure.
