Klaas Jan Huntelaar
Dutch striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar is preparing for his departure from AC Milan as he looks to play first team football to secure a place in Holland’s World Cup squad.
Huntelaar told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf today that "six clubs have contacted my agent (Arnold Oosterveer)" but has rejected an offer from Ukraine side Shakhtar Donetsk and will not return to Holland.
The former Ajax striker added: "My preference is for one of the major leagues" which Huntelaar intimated were Germany, England, Spain and Italy.
The 26-year-old striker added: "the club only seems to want to sell, but I would rather go out on loan, because I still want to succeed at Milan."
Huntelaar pinpointed the reason for his desire to depart the San Siro: "The coach [Dutch national team coach Bert van Marwijk] has always said that internationals must play frequently for their club to go to the World Cup."
